Please reach us at admin@d4youclinic.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Whether you need a motorsport medical depends on your age, the type of licence you are applying for, and whether you have any relevant medical conditions.
If you are aged 18 or over and applying for a National Race Licence for the first time, you may be required to complete a medical assessment.
For some applicants aged 18 to 45, a self-declaration may be sufficient, depending on the licence type and medical history.
From the age of 45, an annual race licence medical may be required. A resting or stress ECG is not usually required for this age group unless specifically requested.
If you are applying for or renewing a National Race, Truck or Long Circuit Kart Licence and you are aged 60 or over, or if you have previously declared medical conditions, you may need a full medical report.
The medical assessment may include:
Review of your medical history
Vision test
Blood pressure check
Colour perception test, if required
Urine test, if required
At D4You Clinic, we complete national UK motorsport medicals and the relevant medical sections of your licence application form.
Do you complete international motorsport licence medicals?
At D4You Clinic, we currently complete medicals for national UK motorsport licences only.
We do not currently provide medical assessments for international motorsport licences.
If you require an international motorsport licence medical, please check the requirements directly with the relevant motorsport licensing body before booking.
Depending on your age and the licence requirements, you may need additional tests alongside your motorsport medical.
If you are aged 60, 65, 70, 72, 74, or 75 and above, you may be required to have:
A medical assessment
A 12-lead resting ECG
A vision test
Please note that D4You Clinic does not arrange ECGs. If an ECG is required, you will need to arrange this separately and bring the result with you to your appointment, or follow the instructions provided by the relevant motorsport licensing body.
During your appointment, our doctor will complete the required medical assessment and vision test, where applicable.
During your motorsport medical, the doctor will first confirm your identity and then complete the required medical assessment.
The appointment may include:
A review of your medical history
Blood pressure check
Vision assessment
Colour perception test
Urine test, if required
The purpose of the assessment is to help determine whether you meet the relevant medical standards for motorsport participation.
At D4You Clinic, our doctor will complete the required medical sections of your motorsport medical form during your appointment.
